The Advanced Music Production Program is a one year Diploma Program.
Students will take 6 months to learn Sound Recording skills before moving on to 6 months of Music Production.
*Applicants who have had previous sound recording or audio engineering training may be eligible to move directly into Music Production for 6 months of training and receive a Certificate of Completion.
Music Production is a craft. The Producer is responsible for delivering high quality, commercially competitive recordings on time and on budget.
The Producer is in charge of the entire process of making records from conception to completion which includes the quality of the music, performance and recording, to the logistical, legal and budgetary aspect of the project.
The Producer has to have an understanding of all aspects of the process including the creative, technical, psychological, logistical and business components of a successful project.
It is the Producer's job to see that every individual involved in the project delivers the right piece at the right time. The Producer wears many hats and is faced with a multitude of issues to deal with on a daily basis throughout the project.
At Nimbus you will learn microphone placement and signal path from behind the console while you engineer real sessions with artists. You will hone your editing skills on digital audio workstations and become proficient in the digital and analog realms. Your class will also meet regularly with a trained psychologist, to learn skills in motivation, personality management, and how to have difficult conversations. You are trained for every aspect of the role as producer.
You’ll work side by side with students, instructors and industry professionals who share in your passion for music. As you progress through the Advanced Music Production diploma program, you will apply your knowledge by running your own sessions with the artist of your choice giving you the real-life experience needed to embark on your career in recording arts.
