Chris spent 10 years at Universal Music Canada, managing the sales, promotion and marketing of over 6,000 releases a year. His support and appetite for local artists, with the hopes of adding value to the Vancouver music scene, hit the high water mark when he attended 189 shows in just 1 year. In 2004 he launched the independent label and music publishing company Cazart! Records.

His passion for the local scene led him to gain additional experience in band management, as the Music Editor for a location publication, a contributing editor for Discorder Magazine, and as the host of an independent radio show for well over a decade.

Chris sat for 3 years as President of the Board of Directors for Music BC, a non-profit society administering endeavours such as the Peak Performance Project and the 2009 Juno Awards. He is a co-founder and board member of Music Heals, which unites programs and charities related to Music Therapy.

In his other life Chris is a yoga teacher. He can read your mind and is levitating right now.

Keith Parry

keith_2012_400_01

Keith Parry has been in denial of adulthood since he started the Scratch Records store in 1987. The store expanded to a record label in 1991, which under Keith's leadership has released dozens of heralded albums from artists like Black Mountain, Destroyer, Pink Mountaintops, TFUL282, Vancougar, Snailhouse, Sun City Girls, Thor, Murder City Devils, Shuyler Jansen, Jerk With A Bomb, and many more.

The label's success birthed the huge growth of the distribution wing of the business from 1994 until recently. Through the years Keith also promoted hundreds of shows for international touring acts such as Jesus Lizard, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Zip Code Rapists, Unrest, Green Day, Urge Overkill and beyond. Keith has played drums, both on record and/or on tour, with a number of successful acts such as Neko Case, Pink Mountaintops, The Gay, Superconductor, Kelly Hogan, Jad Fair, Vic Chesnut, Kevin Kane, Harvey Sid Fisher, Twerdocleb, Nimrod, and others. He was also an on air host for CITR Radio, and wrote for Discorder and Chart Magazines.

To put it plainly, if it is something to do with independent music, he has done it. If it is something to do with good music and good people, he supports it. Present day, Keith still runs the Scratch label and also promotes and books original music and art events at the Interurban Gallery, among other venues. He is currently playing drums with Shane Abram (formerly the Awkward Stage).

When not living music, Keith is an avid and semi-competitive curler, and is a slave to his cats.
